Through-Colour MDF
This variant of MDF is coloured all the way through, using a dyeing technique called integral colouring. This cuts out the need for repainting if the material is scratched.
While through-colour MDF often comes in shades of black (a popular designer’s choice), it is also sold in other colours. The product is formaldehyde-free and safe for use as display racks, panels, and furniture. It also has fairly high levels of transverse tensile strength and screw-holding strength compared to other MDFs.
