Douglas Fir Plywood Sanded/G1S
Sanded fir or G1S (good 1 side) plywood is composed of 100% Douglas fir veneers bonded together with waterproof phenolic adhesive making it suitable for use in both interior and exterior applications where a sanded face is required for further finishing and a finer appearance.
Good 1 side plywood is typically graded ACX (“A” FACE, “C BACK, “X’ (exterior) glue line or BCX (“B” FACE, “C” back, “X” (exterior) glue line. These panels use the best face as the sanded face for finishing and have “C” grade veneers for the core and back veneers. All panels are graded to CSA 0121 standards as well as APA standards for quality assurance. The faces of these panels are fully sanded and may contain neat wood patches, inlays or synthetic patching material to provide a smooth face. G1S panels are used where appearance and a fine, smooth finish is required. Typical applications are uses in millwork and cabinetry, among others. Good 2 side panels (G2S or ABX grades) are also available on special order where a fine finish is required on both sides of the panel.
