Species: Hickory, Pecan Carya illinoensisPecan/Hickory is a close-grained hardwood, used for furniture and wall paneling. The heartwood is reddish-brown with occasional darker streaks and the sapwood is creamy white. Pecan/Hickory grows from the Mississippi River Valley North through Illinois.
